How to Break the COVID-19 Chain in Alberta
How to Break the COVID-19 Chain in Alberta
As Albertans, we must come together and stay strong as new restrictions are in full force. Infection rates are rising, and as hospitals start to fill up, we want to do our part to break the COVID chain. We understand that the holiday season is a social season, but we must hang in there by remaining at home, socially distant, and follow all of the government regulations put forth for our safety. There is a lot of information out there - we know, but hopefully some of these questions and answers can help clarify what we need to do to help break the COVID chain.
This information is taken directly from Alberta Health Services. We hope these questions and answers will help you and your family stay healthy and safe while we fight the spread of COVID-19. Though the holidays may look a little different this year, we still hope you spend it with your loved ones in your household, and have many wonderful virtual get-togethers with extended family members and friends.
We wish you all the best this holiday season. Stay healthy and safe!

fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sore throat, runny nose
What is contact tracing?
Contact tracing is the process of identifying all people that a positive COVID-19 patient has come in contact with in the last two weeks.
When do you quarantine and for how long?
You must quarantine for 14 days if you are in close contact with someone with COVID-19 or if you, or they travelled outside Canada.
When do you isolate and for how long?
Isolating and quarantine don’t mean the same thing. You isolate if tested positive for COVID-19 or if you are sick and have not been tested. You must isolate for 10-days min. from the start of symptoms, or until symptoms resolve, whichever takes longer.
